29 Jul Patient of the Week – Tia
Tia was non-weight bearing when she came to Mountainside and after a previous cruciate repair in her other leg, a cruciate tear was suspected and confirmed by x-rays.
Fortunately, the x-rays indicated that her hips were still in good shape with no signs of osteoarthritis.
During surgery it was also discovered that her meniscus (the piece of cartilage that provides cushioning between the femur and the tibia) was also damaged and required repair.
Without the pain of her torn cruciate she is expected to be much more mobile after some rehab.
