22 Jul Patient of the Week – Lola
Lola had an unfortunate run-in with a fish hook that brought her to the ER department.
She had one wedged in her mouth and x-rays and an endoscopy revealed that she also had one lodged in the opening to her stomach.
Fortunately, the fish hook was removed with the endoscopy forceps without causing harm to the lining of her upper G.I. tract.
She went home with some gastro protectants to minimize any irritation in her stomach and she is expected to make a full recovery.
