Dr. Julie Nunes graduated from the Universidade de Marilia in Brazil in 2009. She then did further training in surgery for 2 years and worked at both emergency and general practice medicine in Sao Paulo. She spent a year in Guelph, Ontario before heading back to Brazil for another 2 years working in general practice medicine and surgery. Julie is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.
Dr. Nunes immigrated to Canada in 2016 and 3 years later made the move from Ottawa to Vancouver to escape the snow! Professional interests include soft tissue surgery and especially emergency surgery. She is passionate about helping animals in distress and improving their quality of life.
When not at work she catches up on her guilty pleasure of reality TV, crocheting and running. She and her husband enjoy travelling to visit family and friends and entertaining and cooking at home.

Located in North Vancouver, Mountainside Animal Hospital and Emergency Services is here for you and your pet. We will see any emergency, critical care and time-sensitive medical condition. We also accept transfers from our surrounding general practice partners.
